Yoga Poses to Promote Breast Health
Bhujangasana (Cobra Pose)
This pose is a gentle backbend that can help open your chest, strengthen back muscles, increase flexibility in the spine, and ultimately support breast health.
Instructions
Begin by lying on your stomach with your palms under your shoulders.
Next, inhale as you lift your chest off the floor with your elbows slightly bent.
Pull your shoulders back, opening the front of your body.
Hold this pose for a few breaths.
Gomukhasana (Cow Face Pose)
In this asana, the hands are joined behind each other, creating a stretch on the chest and shoulders. This pose promotes a deep stretch in the chest, shoulders and arms, promoting flexibility and circulation.
Instructions
Start by sitting with your legs crossed.
Bring your right hand behind your back, reaching for your upper spine and bring your left hand to your left shoulder.
Try to hold your hands together, and if that is not possible, use a strap to reduce the distance between your hands.
Hold the pose for about a minute and then switch sides.
Balasana (Child's Pose)
This asana stretches and expands the back by contracting the front body. It also helps with overall relaxation, stretching of the back and shoulder muscles, which in turn can promote good posture and potentially contribute to breast health.
Instructions
Begin by kneeling on the floor while bending over your legs.
Draw your hips over your heels and tuck your stomach into your thighs as you bend forward.
Make sure you rest your forehead on the floor while doing this.
