Arrests Made in Ongoing Anti-Terror Operations

In a significant move against terrorist networks, Budgam police have apprehended three associates linked to the banned organization Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT). The Jammu and Kashmir police confirmed the identities of the arrested individuals as Muzamil Ahmed, Ishfaq Pandit (both residents of Aglar Pattan), and Munir Ahmed from Miripora Beerwah. These arrests took place in the Kawusa Narbal area of Magam. During the operation, law enforcement recovered a pistol and a grenade, along with other arms and ammunition from their possession.

According to police reports, a case has been registered at the Magam police station under relevant sections of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA), and further investigations are underway. Earlier today, senior officials informed reporters that the Indian Army successfully neutralized six terrorists in two separate operations across various regions of Jammu and Kashmir within a span of 48 hours. Notably, one of the terrorists was involved in the murder of a village head in the Union Territory back in March.

Major General Dhananjay Joshi, GOC of the V Force, stated to the media, "We will locate and eliminate terrorists wherever they may be hiding." He mentioned that the army received intelligence about a potential terrorist group in the elevated areas of Kellar on May 12. Upon observing some activity the following morning, security forces challenged the terrorists, who responded with gunfire. The security personnel swiftly neutralized the threat. A second operation was conducted in a border village in Tral.
