Kajol's Powerful Performance in 'Maa'


On June 27, Bollywood actress Kajol shared her heartfelt appreciation for embodying strong feminine energy in her recent film 'Maa', particularly during a captivating musical segment titled 'Kali Shakti'. She expressed her amazement at the moment when the statue of Goddess Kali was revealed.


When asked about her portrayal of Kali's formidable essence on screen, Kajol remarked, "I hope so... While filming the song, it was such an intense experience that everyone present felt its impact. Those dancing and everyone around were moved by it."


"Listening to that song puts you in a trance. I feel incredibly thankful for the opportunity to be part of it," she added.


The 50-year-old actress reminisced about a significant scene in 'Maa' where she unveiled the statue of Goddess Kali, describing it as one of the film's most stunning and meaningful moments.


"One of the most remarkable aspects of the film is when I remove the cloth covering the statue of Kali. She was simply breathtaking," Kajol noted.


"I remember standing on set, and someone unveiled the statue for a shot after it had been covered for the first four days. When I finally saw it, I was genuinely awestruck."


Kajol expressed her gratitude for being able to see Goddess Kali every morning while on set, stating, "I felt so blessed to be in front of Ma and to work in her presence. It was an extraordinary experience."


'Maa', a mythological horror film, hit theaters on June 27. The movie features Ronit Roy, Indraneil Sengupta, and Kherin Sharma, and serves as a spinoff to the 2024 film 'Shaitaan', set within the same universe.


The plot revolves around a mother and daughter who travel to the hometown of the late husband, only to discover a demonic curse that endangers their lives.
