Jerusalem: In a bid to rally global backing for Israel's military actions against Iran, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu reached out to various world leaders, including India's Prime Minister Narendra Modi, as confirmed by his office on Friday.

Starting from last night, Netanyahu has engaged in discussions with several leaders, such as German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, Indian Prime Minister Modi, and French President Emmanuel Macron, according to a statement from his office.

Modi shared on X, "I received a call from PM @netanyahu of Israel, who updated me on the current situation. I expressed India's concerns and highlighted the importance of restoring peace and stability in the region promptly."

Netanyahu is also expected to converse with US President Donald Trump, Russian President Vladimir Putin, and British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, as per the statement.

The leaders acknowledged Israel's defense requirements in light of the Iranian threat, with Netanyahu indicating he would maintain communication with them in the upcoming days.

India expressed its "deep concern" regarding the escalating tensions between Iran and Israel and stated it is "closely monitoring" the situation.

New Delhi has urged both nations to refrain from any actions that could escalate the conflict.

Reports from international media indicate that Israel has conducted strikes across various locations in Iran, targeting nuclear facilities, missile sites, and high-ranking military officials.
