Tragic Death of Accused's Grandmother Amid Murder Investigation in Shillong
Grandmother of Main Accused Passes Away
In Shillong, the grandmother of Raj Kushwaha, the primary suspect in the murder conspiracy of businessman Raja Raghuvanshi from Indore, passed away from a heart attack on Wednesday.
Ram Lali, aged 74, died at her home in Rampur village, Ghazipur, in the Fatehpur district. Her husband, Darbari Singh, informed reporters that Ram Lali had been defending her grandson ever since Raj's name emerged as a key suspect in the murder case.
Singh mentioned that Ram Lali insisted on Raj's innocence, claiming he was wrongfully implicated in the murder of Raja Raghuvanshi. Raj was identified as the boyfriend of Sonam, who was married to Raja.
According to Singh, it was revealed that Raj had a romantic relationship with Sonam Raghuwanshi from Indore. Allegedly, Sonam orchestrated Raja's murder with the help of Raj and others.
About a week ago, Ram Lali appeared before the media, staunchly defending her grandson's innocence. She stated, 'Raj has never had any relations with anyone. Sonam had her husband killed and is dragging Raj into this.'
In response to questions about the Raja Raghuvanshi murder case, Ram Lali expressed concern, stating that powerful individuals are involved and can do anything.
Raj worked as an accountant at Sonam's family's furniture sheet factory in the Govind Nagar Kharcha area of Indore. After their wedding on May 11, Raja and Sonam traveled to Shillong for their honeymoon. They went missing just hours after checking out from a homestay in Nongriat village on May 23, where Raja's body was discovered on June 2.
