AAP Denounces ED Raids as Political Distraction Amid Allegations

AAP's Response to ED Raids

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) criticized the Enforcement Directorate's (ED) recent raids, labeling them as a desperate attempt to divert public attention from pressing issues. The party claims that the allegations against its leaders are politically motivated.

According to official sources, the ED conducted searches at multiple locations in the national capital on Wednesday as part of an investigation into a purported ₹2,000 crore classroom construction scam linked to the previous AAP government.

This action follows the ED's registration of a criminal case under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), prompted by a First Information Report (FIR) filed by the Delhi Anti-Corruption Branch (ACB) regarding these allegations.

Reports indicate that ED officials targeted at least 37 premises associated with contractors and private entities involved in the case. In response to the raids, AAP issued a statement accusing the BJP of consistently demolishing slums and undermining the livelihoods of the poor and marginalized across Delhi.

The statement emphasized that these so-called raids are merely a desperate attempt to distract the public from reality. It asserted that the accusations are baseless, politically motivated, and intended solely to divert attention from the BJP's anti-people actions.
