Directed and penned by Shashank Khaitan, known for his work on Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania and Badrinath Ki Dulhania, this film was initially slated for an April 18 release but was postponed to September 12 before settling on the October date.

Dhawan took to Instagram to share the news, posting a promotional image that read, "Varun Dhawan as Sunny Sanskari in cinemas 2nd October 2025."

His post included a poetic caption: "Sunny Sanskari ki shaayari - 'Yeh aansoon hain mere, samundar ka jal nahin. Yeh aansoon hai mere, samundar ka jal nahin... Baarish ka kya bharosa, aaj hai….kal nahi!!!' #SunnySanskariKiTulsiKumari in cinemas, 2nd October 2025."

Produced by Karan Johar's Dharma Productions along with Khaitan's Mentor Disciple Entertainment, Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari features a talented cast including Sanya Malhotra, Akshay Oberoi, Rohit Saraf, and Maniesh Paul in significant roles.

The film marks a reunion for Dhawan and Kapoor, who previously collaborated on Nitesh Tiwari's Bawaal, released in 2023.

Additionally, Kapoor is set to appear alongside Sidharth Malhotra in Tushar Jalota's upcoming film Param Sundari, expected to premiere in August.

Meanwhile, Dhawan is busy filming Border 2, a sequel to the iconic 1997 film Border, which also features Sunny Deol, Ahan Shetty, and Diljit Dosanjh, with a theatrical release planned for January 23, 2026.
