In a major development, Japanese automotive giant Honda has unveiled a series of new safety features for its Elevate, City and Amaze models. These include the addition of airbags, Emergency Locking Retractor (ELR) seat belts and seatbelt reminder systems. Honda has also included some premium features to enhance the driving experience, thus improving its price structure. Reported by Motorbeam. Notably, these upgrades have been brought in to promote safety upgrades and provide customers with greater comfort and ease of travel on the road.

Honda Elevate and City get safety features
One of the most notable improvements is the inclusion of six airbags for all occupants, three-point Emergency Locking Retractor (ELR) seat belts and a seatbelt reminder system across the Honda Elevate and City SUV variants. Apart from that, the Elevate now also boasts other additional features like adjustable head restraints, driver and co-driver vanity mirrors for all passengers along with a digi-analogue instrument cluster with a 7-inch TFT display. On the other hand, the City also gets an 8-speaker premium sound system for the instrument cluster on the base SV variant and a new 4.2-inch TFT display with rear sunshade on the VX trim.

Along with these enhancements, the prices have also gone up for both the City and Elevate models. While Honda Elevate is now priced at around Rs. 11-16 lakh (ex-showroom), while the Honda City is priced at around Rs. 12-16 lakhs (ex-showroom).

Upgrade to HONDA AMAZE and E:HEV models
On the other hand, other Honda models including the Amaze and e:HEV have also received a few upgrades in terms of their safety features. Both models will have seat belt reminders for all five seats as standard. However, there are no mechanical changes to the vehicles. Honda Amaze and e:HEV models are now priced at Rs. 7-9 lakh (ex-showroom) and Rs. 20 lakhs (ex-showroom).

Notably, these features are introduced with a high level of security for discerning customers.

Speaking on the same, Honda Cars India President and CEO Takuya Tsumura underlined the brand's dedication to its global vision of "zero traffic collision fatalities involving Honda vehicles" and its overarching principle of "Safety for Everyone". The company has also stated that the improvements will align with its vision of achieving zero traffic collision fatalities globally by 2050.
