Rishabh Pant Reflects on IPL 2025 Performance and Prepares for England Test Series

Rishabh Pant's IPL Journey
Despite a challenging IPL 2025 season, Rishabh Pant managed to shine in his final match for the Lucknow Super Giants, scoring a remarkable century. Although Lucknow did not qualify for the playoffs, the Indian Test management was undoubtedly relieved to see Pant regain his form just before the team's tour to England. After achieving 100 runs against Lucknow, Pant expressed his desire to take a break from cricket.
“There are several aspects we need to discuss and improve upon. However, with the season concluding, I’m uncertain about the direction of those conversations. For now, I wish to disconnect from cricket and focus on my mental well-being before the upcoming England series,” Pant stated after his impressive innings of 118 runs off 61 balls, which included 11 fours and eight sixes.
Performance Overview
Pant, who was acquired for a staggering 27 crores, struggled throughout the season, failing to score in earlier matches. However, his final performance was a highlight, contributing to Lucknow's overall tally of six wins and eight losses, leaving them in seventh place with 12 points. Over the course of 14 matches, Pant accumulated 226 runs, averaging 24.45 with a strike rate of 133.16. He is now set to join the Indian Test team for their upcoming series against England, starting June 20.
