Rishabh Pant Out of England Test Series: What’s Next for Indian Cricket?

Rishabh Pant has been ruled out of the ongoing Test series against England after suffering a toe fracture during the fourth Test. The Indian wicketkeeper-batter retired hurt after being struck on the foot while batting. With Pant sidelined for six weeks, Ishan Kishan is expected to step in as his replacement. The team may also consider KL Rahul for wicketkeeping duties, although he hasn't performed that role recently. Rishabh Pant's Injury Update

Manchester: Indian wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant has been sidelined from the ongoing Test series against England due to a fractured toe sustained on the first day of the fourth Test.

Pant had to retire hurt after scoring 37 runs when he was struck on his right foot while attempting a reverse sweep against England's Chris Woakes on Wednesday.

According to a source from the BCCI, "He will be out for approximately six weeks. A replacement will be brought in, likely Ishan Kishan."

There was visible blood from Pant's right foot, and the area showed significant swelling.

Ishan Kishan, who recently participated in two County matches for Nottinghamshire, was also part of the India A team that played against the England Lions prior to the Test series, although he did not feature in either match.

The team management may also consider KL Rahul for wicketkeeping duties, but he hasn't performed that role since the South Africa tour during the 2023-24 season.
