The Asia Cup 2025 is scheduled to kick off on September 9, with a highly anticipated match between India and Pakistan set for Sunday, September 14. Both teams are placed in Group A alongside the UAE and Oman. If the teams maintain their current form, they could face each other again on September 21 during the Super Four stage. Additionally, there is a possibility of a third clash in the tournament final, should both teams advance that far, allowing fans to witness three encounters in less than three weeks. Notably, despite their long-standing rivalry, India and Pakistan have never faced off in the final of this continental championship.

India and Pakistan's Group A Lineup

India's first match is set for September 10, with all games taking place in the UAE, specifically in Dubai. Group B features Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, and Hong Kong. The tournament will comprise 19 matches across two venues: Dubai and Abu Dhabi, with each team permitted to field a squad of 17 players.

Although the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is the official host, the tournament will be conducted in the UAE. This decision was made during a meeting of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) on July 24, where representatives agreed on the venue change. This arrangement stems from a mutual agreement between India and Pakistan to compete only at neutral sites until at least 2027, due to ongoing political tensions.

To maximize viewership, the ACC has arranged for India and Pakistan to be in the same group, ensuring at least two matches between them, as per their current agreement with broadcasters.
