Odisha's Bold Move: Four New Storage Structures on Mahanadi Announced by CM Majhi

Major Development Initiatives in Subarnapur
On Saturday, Odisha's Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi revealed plans for the construction of four in-stream storage facilities along the Mahanadi River, specifically in the Subarnapur district.
This announcement came during his visit to the district, where he inaugurated 56 development initiatives totaling Rs 323 crore.
The planned storage structures will be located at Godhaneshwar, Khairmal, Ulunda, and Surubali.
During this visit, the chief minister inaugurated 11 projects valued at Rs 80 crore and laid the groundwork for an additional 45 projects worth Rs 244 crore.
These initiatives encompass the development of roads, bridges, hostels, irrigation systems, health services, and mega lift projects.
In his address, Majhi emphasized the historical and cultural significance of the Subarnapur region, highlighting its longstanding importance in Odisha's political and cultural landscape.
He referred to the district as a testament to ancient heritage, religious beliefs, spiritual ideologies, and folk traditions, while also honoring the contributions of saint-poet Bhimbhoi.
Majhi asserted that his administration has successfully delivered on 11 out of the 21 commitments made to the electorate within just one year. He also distributed work orders and support to beneficiaries of various government schemes.
Balangir MP Sangita Kumari Singhdeo remarked that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership, a 'new era of development' has commenced in Odisha.
