The police in Bengaluru have initiated a First Information Report (FIR) against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), the event management company DNA, and the Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) Administrative Committee, among others, at the Cubbon Park Police Station. This action follows a tragic stampede that occurred during the RCB victory parade.
The FIR alleges criminal negligence related to the stampede incident.
Karnataka High Court Involvement
In a related development, the Karnataka High Court has requested the state government to submit a status report regarding the stampede that took place outside the cricket stadium.
RCB Offers Financial Aid
In response to the devastating events during the celebrations for RCB's historic Indian Premier League (IPL) victory, the franchise has announced a financial contribution of ₹10 lakh to support the families of those affected.
The stampede, which occurred amidst a large gathering of fans, resulted in the tragic loss of eleven lives and left many others injured. RCB expressed deep sorrow over the incident and has committed to providing immediate financial assistance to the families of the deceased.

RCB's official statement conveyed their grief, stating, "The unfortunate incident in Bengaluru yesterday has caused a lot of anguish and pain to the RCB family. As a mark of respect and a gesture of solidarity, RCB has announced a financial support of INR 10 lakh to each of the eleven families of the deceased. In addition, a fund called RCB Cares is also being created to support fans injured in this tragic incident."
Details of the Incident
The chaos unfolded near the M Chinnaswamy Stadium during the IPL victory celebrations when a massive crowd of fans gathered to see their favorite players. Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah confirmed that eleven individuals lost their lives and thirty-three others sustained injuries during the incident.
