The Test teams of England and India are set to honor cricket legends James Anderson and Sachin Tendulkar with a newly established trophy that recognizes their extraordinary contributions to Test cricket. This exciting chapter in their rivalry will commence this summer, with the five-match Test series kicking off at Headingley on June 20.
Introducing the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy
The Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy, a collaborative effort by the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), will symbolize all future Test series between England and India. Previously, the series in England was contested for the Pataudi Trophy, while the Indian series was played for the Anthony De Mello Trophy.

The Pataudi family will still be recognized, with a newly created Pataudi Medal awarded to the captain of the winning team in each England-India Test series.

Both Anderson and Tendulkar are celebrated as two of the greatest players in Test cricket history. Tendulkar holds the record for the most runs scored in Test matches, totaling 15,921 runs over 200 matches, while Anderson has taken 704 wickets in 188 matches, making him the leading fast bowler in Test history.
