Jaaved Jaaferi Reveals His Creative Process Behind 'Dhamaal' Character

Jaaved Jaaferi Discusses Character Design
Mumbai, June 19: Actor Jaaved Jaaferi recently revealed that he played a significant role in crafting his character for the popular comedy series ‘Dhamaal’. During a conversation with Farah Khan on her show, he shared insights into the character's development.
Jaaved recounted, “Indra Kumar complimented me, saying, ‘Javed, you look smart’. I took that as a cue. Later, he mentioned, ‘your voice is very good’. I understood what he was implying.”
The actor elaborated that he drew inspiration from the director's feedback to shape the character, incorporating subtle nuances into his portrayal.
He explained, “I conceptualized the character's look with dungarees and created the entire appearance. On the first day of filming, the director was surprised. When we shot the pizza scene, I introduced a lisp and altered my posture to appear weaker. Standing tall and speaking assertively wouldn’t fit the character, so I adjusted my stance and added the lisp.”
In another segment of the show, Jaaved's brother, Naved, shared the origin story of the dance show 'Boogie Woogie'. He recalled, “When the producer asked for a title, I suggested, ‘Boogie Woogie Dancing Show’, inspired by an old favorite of mine. The producer agreed, and we quickly moved forward with the concept.”
