Political Tensions Rise Over Military Agreement
On Friday, BJP MP Nishikant Dubey accused Congress leader Rahul Gandhi of hypocrisy for questioning External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar. Dubey referenced the 1991 India-Pakistan military transparency agreement, highlighting Congress's long-standing ties with its Pakistani voter base. In a post on X, he asserted that the 1991 agreement involved both nations agreeing to share information regarding military movements, implying that the Congress party had previously supported security transparency with Pakistan.
Nishikant Dubey stated on X that this agreement was established during a government supported by your party. He emphasized that in 1991, the Congress-led government agreed to exchange information about any military movements or attacks between India and Pakistan. He questioned whether this agreement could be considered treason, criticizing Congress for its connection to the Pakistani voter base while making derogatory remarks about Minister Jaishankar. He also shared notes related to the agreement on X.
Meanwhile, political discourse has intensified in India following the ceasefire between India and Pakistan. In this context, Congress MP Rahul Gandhi shared a segment of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's speech, posing three questions. On X, Rahul challenged Modi, asking him to stop delivering hollow speeches and to clarify: 1. Why did you trust Pakistan regarding terrorism? 2. Why did you compromise India's interests by bowing to Trump? 3. Why does your blood only boil in front of cameras? You have compromised India's dignity!
