Filmmaker Karan Johar shared an interesting story about why he used to steal food from Rani Mukerji during the shooting of 'Kuch Kuch Hota Hai'. Actresses Rani Mukerji and Kajol are all set to grace the famous 'coffee' couch and will be seen getting candid about Karan Johar's directorial debut 'Kuch Kuch Hota Hai'.


On Monday, Johar, who is hosting season 8 of 'Koffee With Karan', shared a promo video of the show on Instagram and captioned it, “We've hit the [?] button hard to bring my first leading lady, Kajol. And Rani, back to the coffee sofa, and it's nostalgia in its purest form!!!!"


During a conversation, Rani reminds Karan of how she snatched food from him and beat him during the shooting of 'KKHH'. Rani Mukherjee says, "You took the food out of my hands, you beat me." "I didn't kill you," says Karan in her defense. Rani Mukherjee says, "What a liar!"

Talking about this, Karan Johar said, "I told Rani, you have to wear this short skirt in Mauritius; lose some weight to wear it. She said I will lose 4-5 kg, so 4-5 kg happened, But they weren't lost; they were worn. I'm not body-shaming. You realize I've come a long way; my wake meter is very high. But at the time, I didn't know any better; I was like K, 'How can she wear this little orange skirt? So, then we instructed the room service not to give you food. And Rani's mother Krishna aunty said, 'Yes tum bolo, jab room service phone karegi, bolo, nahi hai khana. She was very busy on it and then, poor thing, she ate something."

Adding further, Rani Mukherjee said, "Breakfast, the first meal of the day, is considered very healthy for you. You just said you can't eat this and you snatched the plate from my hand."

'Kuch Kuch Hota Hai', released on October 16, 1998, won several awards and received overwhelming response from audiences and critics. Apart from the lead actors, the film also featured Salman Khan, Archana Puran Singh, Anupam Kher and Johnny Lever. The film proved to be a trendsetter in the 90s. From the trend of gifting friendship bands on Friendship Day to SRK's 'cool' pendant and Anjali's bob-cut, the film set the pace for many new trends.
