Allegations of Kidnapping and Forced Conversion

Karachi: A woman from Pakistan's Hindu minority has reportedly been kidnapped, forcibly converted to Islam, and subsequently married to a Muslim man, according to her family.

The family of the abducted woman has urgently called on the government and local authorities for her recovery in the Dighri region of Mirpurkhas, located in southern Sindh province.

The woman's husband, along with their four children, visited the offices of Darawar Ittehad Pakistan in Mirpurkhas to advocate for their case.

Shiva Kaachi, who leads a non-governmental organization dedicated to the rights and welfare of minorities, especially Hindus, stated that the woman was taken, converted to Islam, and married to a man named Shehbaz Khashkheli against her will.

"The police have yet to file a First Information Report (FIR) and are not providing assistance; we will now seek legal recourse," he mentioned.

The husband recounted that his wife was abducted by Shehbaz Khashkheli and his associates from near their home last week.

"Two days later, they took her to a religious institution, converted her to Islam, and married her without her consent. Is this the kind of justice minorities receive in Pakistan?" he questioned.
