India's Cricket Team Welcomes New Talent with Test Cap Debut
India's New Test Cap Recipient
After much anticipation, the Indian cricket team has officially presented the debut cap (317) to a new player during the first Test match against England at Headingley. Regrettably, Abhimanyu Easwaran will not be participating in this match. Cheteshwar Pujara, who has been a stalwart in India's middle order, is currently in England fulfilling commentary duties. He was called upon to present the Test cap to the promising player from Tamil Nadu.
Earlier in his career, Sai had already received his caps for T20 and ODI formats. With the addition of the Test cap today, he completes the trifecta. Notably, he was the leading run-scorer in the 2025 IPL season, playing for the Gujarat Titans under the captaincy of Shubman Gill.
Additionally, reports from a sports news outlet indicate that Karun Nair is set to bat at the number six position.
