Varun Dhawan and Sharvari Wagh Set to Star in Luka Chuppi 2

The makers of the hit film Luka Chuppi are gearing up for a sequel, Luka Chuppi 2, featuring Varun Dhawan and Sharvari Wagh. This new installment promises a supernatural twist, diverging from the original's comedic premise. With filming set to begin in 2026, both actors have shown interest in the project, pending script finalization. The original film was a box office success, and anticipation is high for this follow-up. Varun is also involved in other projects, including Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai and Border 2, while Sharvari is currently filming Alpha alongside Alia Bhatt.

Exciting Sequel in Development

Following the box office triumph of Luka Chuppi in 2019, plans for a sequel are reportedly underway. The upcoming romantic comedy, Luka Chuppi 2, is expected to feature Varun Dhawan and Sharvari Wagh, with Laxman Utekar returning as the director.


As per sources, the sequel will introduce a supernatural element, diverging from the original storyline. Both Varun and Sharvari have tentatively agreed to participate, with formal contracts anticipated once the script is finalized. Filming is projected to commence in the first half of 2026.


The original film starred Kartik Aaryan and Kriti Sanon, telling the story of a couple from a small town who pretends to be married to live together, leading to a series of humorous and awkward situations as they try to keep their families in the dark. It was a commercial success, earning Rs 128.60 crore globally.

On another note, Varun Dhawan is currently working on a romantic comedy titled Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai, alongside Pooja Hegde and Mrunal Thakur. The film, which also features Maniesh Paul, Rajeev Khandelwal, Mouni Roy, Kubbra Sait, Chunky Pandey, Jimmy Shergill, and Rohit Saraf, is directed by David Dhawan and is set for release in October 2025.


Additionally, Varun is preparing for Border 2, a sequel to the classic 1997 war film Border, where he will portray Major Hoshiar Singh Dahiya, a Param Vir Chakra recipient. The cast includes Sunny Deol, Diljit Dosanjh, and Ahan Shetty.


Meanwhile, Sharvari is busy filming Alpha, an action movie featuring Alia Bhatt.
