Manish Pandey's Fitness Journey

Chandigarh (Punjab) [India], April 14: Indian cricketer Manish Pandey, who plays for Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), recently shared insights into how his family's military background has influenced his athletic career and fitness. He emphasized that engaging in various sports during his childhood laid a solid foundation for his physical fitness.

During an episode of 'Train Like a Knight' on KKR's YouTube channel, Manish opened up about his daily routine and training practices aimed at inspiring his followers.

Renowned for his elegant batting style and dynamic fielding, the Indian player stressed the importance of discipline in his life. He stated, “Growing up in an army family allowed me to participate in numerous sports, which significantly contributed to my early fitness foundation. I maintain a straightforward approach, focusing on two strength training sessions and two cardio workouts each week.”

Regarding his dietary habits, the 35-year-old athlete mentioned that he prefers a light breakfast before his workouts. “I’m not a big breakfast person. My usual breakfast consists of eggs and porridge, allowing me to start my training about an hour later,” he explained.

For lunch, he opts for a more substantial meal, feeling that after his gym session, he can prepare for an evening of sports. “I might have another boiled egg and some curd to complement my meal,” he added.

When asked about his meals, Manish noted that he always includes curd, whether he’s having rice or dal, as it’s beneficial for digestion, especially in the summer months.

Additionally, he incorporates other nutritious sources like flax seeds and fish oil, which are rich in omega-3 fatty acids, crucial for recovery and overall health.

Manish Pandey has had a commendable career, representing India in 29 ODIs and 39 T20Is, accumulating 1,275 runs, including a century and five fifties. He is also a seasoned IPL player, having participated in all seasons, with 3,869 runs in 172 matches, averaging 29.09 and a strike rate of 121.17, along with one century and 22 fifties. Notably, he was the first Indian to score a century in the IPL and has won the tournament twice with KKR.
