Exciting PGTI NEXGEN Kapurthala Golf Tournament Set to Begin
Upcoming PGTI NEXGEN Event in Kapurthala
The Professional Golf Tour of India (PGTI) is gearing up for its second event of the NEXGEN season, the PGTI NEXGEN Kapurthala, scheduled from March 18 to March 20 at the RCF Golf Club in Kapurthala, Haryana.
This tournament boasts a prize pool of ₹20 lakh and marks the inaugural PGTI event in Kapurthala. It will consist of three rounds (54 holes), with a cut after the first two rounds (36 holes). The top 36 players, along with ties, will advance to the final round.
A total of 90 participants will compete, including 87 professionals and three amateurs. Notable local players include Ashbeer Saini, a professional from Kapurthala, and amateurs Avneet Singh and Sagar Uppal.
Last week, the season's opening event in Gurugram was clinched by Rajesh Kumar Gautam from Lucknow, who currently leads the Order of Merit.
The winner of this year's NEXGEN Order of Merit will receive an exemption for the main PGTI tour in the 2026 season.
