Exploring the Dangers of Leftist Movements
In his latest book, author Abhijit Jog reveals how leftist parties have acted like termites, undermining democracy both in India and globally. After two years of extensive research, Jog presents a detailed account of the significant damage caused by leftist movements. The book, originally published in Marathi, is titled "The Leftist Termite Hollowing Out the World." The Marathi edition was launched by RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat, while the Hindi and English versions were unveiled at New Maharashtra Sadan in Delhi by BJP MP Dr. Sudhanshu Trivedi, senior BJP leader Sunil Devdhar, Suruchi Publications president Rajeev Tuli, and other distinguished guests.
This bestseller in Marathi has now been published in Hindi and English by Suruchi Publications. During the book launch, Rajeev Tuli emphasized the need to understand the seriousness of the leftist claim that regardless of who governs, the system remains theirs. Meanwhile, Hitesh Shankar, editor of Panchjanya, remarked that wherever leftist ideology has spread, it has consumed the host nation like a termite. Sunil Devdhar, former national secretary of the BJP and founder of My Home India, expressed deep concern over the long-lasting impact of leftist ideologies in India, stating that their legacy is one of chaos, exploitation, and oppression. He pointed to states like West Bengal, Tripura, and Kerala as glaring examples of the destructive effects of leftist governance. Devdhar noted that despite grand claims of social welfare and equality, leftist rule has consistently led to disorder, corruption, and human rights violations. He also shared his experiences from the campaign to uproot decades of leftist rule in Tripura.
A Critical Examination of Leftist Ideology
Jog's book draws a parallel between leftist ideology and termites that are hollowing out Indian culture and society. The author poses several contemporary questions, delivering sharp critiques of leftist thought. During the book launch, Dr. Sudhanshu Trivedi, BJP's national spokesperson and Rajya Sabha MP, stated that leftism is not only like a termite but also akin to an addiction that ensnares three generations in a deceptive worldview. He remarked, “It remains confined within its ideological shell and refuses to engage with reality.” He emphasized that the struggle is not merely political but also civilizational.
Trivedi further added that since the 1970s, leftism has donned a deceptive intellectual facade, beginning with self-hatred, inciting discontent, and ultimately leading to rebellion. He noted, “But this illusion is now shattering.” He cited the Ram Mandir and Ram Setu movements as examples. Additionally, he highlighted that artificial intelligence (AI) and other modern technologies will serve as crucial tools in this ideological battle.
The Call to Action
Hitesh Shankar, editor of Panchjanya, remarked that wherever leftist ideology has taken root, it has hollowed out the nation like a termite. He stated, “This is an ideology that praises democracy but crushes it with tyranny. It glorifies bloody revolutions while stifling dissent in the name of ‘progress.’”
The event also honored prominent figures in journalism education, including Prof. K.G. Suresh, national vice president of My Home India and director of the India Habitat Centre, recognizing their contributions. The program concluded with a call for attendees to actively participate in the “ideological war” and safeguard India’s cultural integrity.
