Brisbane Heat Retains Jemimah Rodrigues in WBBL Draft 2023

In Melbourne on June 19, Australian cricket fans were thrilled as Indian star Jemimah Rodrigues was retained by Brisbane Heat during the Women’s Big Bash League (WBBL) Draft. This event saw eight franchises select from a pool of 23 international players.
Rodrigues, who has garnered a strong fan base in Brisbane, will be rejoining the Heat alongside international talents Chinelle Henry and Nadine de Klerk, enhancing the team's batting and all-round capabilities for WBBL|10.
Notably, Sri Lankan captain Chamari Athapaththu and South African fast bowler Shabnim Ismail have signed with Sydney Thunder, joining forces with England's Heather Knight to create a powerful international lineup.
The Sydney Sixers have also made significant additions, bringing in England's Sophia Dunkley and Mady Villiers, along with New Zealand all-rounder Amelia Kerr.
Adelaide Strikers have strengthened their squad with the inclusion of England's Sophie Ecclestone and Tammy Beaumont, as well as South African Laura Wolvaardt.
Meanwhile, Melbourne Stars have added England wicketkeeper Amy Jones, South African all-rounder Marizanne Kapp, and promising English player Dani Gibson to their roster.
Perth Scorchers have ramped up their lineup with New Zealand's Sophie Devine, England's Paige Scholfield, and South African Chloe Tryon.
Hobart Hurricanes opted for seasoned players, securing England's Danni Wyatt, Natalie Sciver-Brunt, and Linsey Smith.
Lastly, Melbourne Renegades have drafted West Indian powerhouse Deandra Dottin and the dynamic English all-rounder Alice Capsey.
