Incident Occurs While Seeking Medication
In a heartbreaking incident in Sonipat, Haryana, a father and his son tragically lost their lives after being struck by a train. The accident took place near Eidgah Colony when an express train hit them. The father was accompanying his mentally challenged son to get medication when the eight-year-old suddenly ran onto the railway tracks. In a desperate attempt to save his son from the oncoming train, the father rushed after him, resulting in both being fatally injured.
Son's Sudden Dash onto the Tracks
Meharban, aged 36, was taking his son Sufiyan, who is eight years old and has mental health challenges, to the pharmacy. As they approached the railway line, Sufiyan unexpectedly bolted away. Seeing the train approaching, Meharban instinctively ran after his son to protect him, but both were struck by the Dadar Express, leading to their immediate deaths.
Authorities Respond to the Scene
The train driver notified the station master about the incident, who then informed the railway police. The authorities arrived promptly, took possession of the bodies, and arranged for post-mortem examinations. The remains have since been returned to the family, and an investigation into the incident is currently underway.
