TMC MP Mahua Moitra Ties the Knot with Former BJD MP Pinaki Mishra in Germany

Mahua Moitra, a Member of Parliament from the Trinamool Congress (TMC), has reportedly married former Biju Janata Dal (BJD) MP Pinaki Mishra in a private ceremony abroad. A photograph from the wedding has surfaced on social media, showcasing the 50-year-old Moitra and 65-year-old Mishra holding hands and smiling post-ceremony. However, neither of the politicians has officially confirmed the marriage. According to media reports, the wedding took place in Germany.

Background of Pinaki Mishra

Born on October 23, 1959, in Puri, Odisha, Pinaki Mishra is a seasoned politician and senior advocate. He earned his BA (Honors) in History from St. Stephen's College and an LLB from the Faculty of Law at Delhi University. Mishra began his political career with the Indian National Congress, winning the Puri Lok Sabha seat in 1996. He later joined the Biju Janata Dal, securing re-election in 2009, 2014, and 2019.

Involvement in Parliamentary Committees

Throughout his political journey, Pinaki Mishra has been a member of several important parliamentary committees, including the Permanent Committee on Finance, the Business Advisory Committee, the Advisory Committee of the Ministry of Defence, the Permanent Committee on Civil Aviation, and the Advisory Committee of the Ministry of Law and Justice. He contested the Puri Lok Sabha seat in 1996 as a Congress candidate, defeating then-incumbent and Union Minister Braj Kishore Tripathi. As a senior advocate in the Supreme Court of India, he has represented cases across various high courts and major tribunals nationwide. Previously, he was married to Sangeeta Mishra and has a son and a daughter from that marriage. His recent marriage is to TMC MP Mahua Moitra from Krishnanagar, West Bengal.
