Current Weather Conditions in Delhi

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) reported that Delhi is experiencing a relentless heatwave, with temperatures reaching a staggering 43.8°C on Tuesday. Forecasts indicate that maximum temperatures could rise between 44-46°C today. An orange alert has been issued for the national capital and surrounding NCR areas, with similar conditions affecting regions in West and East Rajasthan.

Heatwave Impact Across Northern States

Unfortunately, residents of East and West Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, and Northern Madhya Pradesh should not expect any immediate relief from the oppressive heat. The IMD has also warned of persistently hot and humid weather in Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, Gangetic West Bengal, Bihar, and Odisha. While extreme temperatures are anticipated in these areas over the next few days, some states may find respite through impending rainfall.

Upcoming Rainfall Predictions

Heavy rainfall is forecasted for the Andaman and Nicobar Islands on June 12, with Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim expected to see rain from June 13 to 16. Odisha will likely experience downpours from June 14 to 16, while Madhya Maharashtra and Marathawada are set for rain on June 11 and from June 11 to 14, respectively. The Konkan and Goa regions will also receive rain between June 12 and 16. Additionally, Southern India, including Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal, Kerala, Mahe, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, Karnataka, Rayalaseema, and Telangana, should prepare for increased rainfall.
