Major Discovery of Explosives in Sukma

In a significant operation, security forces have uncovered a large cache of explosive materials in the forests of Sukma district, Chhattisgarh. This information was disclosed by police on Thursday.


Officials reported that the recovery took place in the woods of Botte Tong village, located under the Mettaguda camp, where forces found barrel grenade launcher (BGL) cells, explosive materials, and components for BGL cell manufacturing, which were hidden by Naxalites.


Following intelligence about the presence of Naxalites, a joint team comprising district forces and the Cobra Battalion of the Central Reserve Police Force was dispatched from the Mettaguda camp to patrol the area around Botte Tong village.


During the patrol this morning around 10:30 AM, security personnel discovered a substantial amount of BGL cell explosive materials, BGL cell manufacturing supplies, and other Naxalite equipment that had been concealed to inflict harm on the forces.


Authorities stated that the operation yielded 15 BGL cells, 17 BGL cells without explosives, 78 BGL bodies, 19 BGL heads, three BGL bottom covers, one non-explosive hand grenade, and various other items. All personnel involved in the patrol returned safely to their camps.
