Security Forces Capture Two Hybrid Terrorists in Shopian, Recover Weapons and Cash

Major Security Operation in Shopian
In a significant achievement for law enforcement, two hybrid terrorists linked to Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) were arrested during a well-coordinated operation in the Baskuchan region of Shopian, located in South Kashmir. This operation was carried out by the Special Operations Group (SOG) of Jammu and Kashmir Police, in conjunction with the 44 Rashtriya Rifles (RR) and the 178 Battalion of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), following actionable intelligence regarding terrorist activities in the southern part of the Valley.
The operation commenced with a strategic cordon and search, effectively isolating the area. Security personnel noticed suspicious movements in a nearby orchard, which led to prompt action resulting in the arrest of the suspects, identified as Irfan Bashir and Uzair Salam. The operation was executed meticulously, prioritizing the safety of local residents while addressing potential threats.
An FIR has been filed under the applicable legal provisions, and an investigation is currently in progress to uncover additional details and connections related to the arrested hybrid terrorists.
Alongside the successful arrests, security forces seized a significant cache of weapons and ammunition from the terrorists, which included:
