Odisha CM Takes Swift Action to Aid Visually Impaired Man in Jajpur

Immediate Support for Prafulla Kumar Das


Bhubaneswar: On Thursday, Odisha's Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi instructed officials in Jajpur district to promptly assist a visually impaired individual.


During an event marking the first anniversary of the BJP's governance in Odisha, Majhi learned about the struggles of 41-year-old Prafulla Kumar Das, who is completely blind and resides in Andhari village, Korei block.


Following the Chief Minister's directive, Das will receive housing support through the Antyoday Griha Yojana, as confirmed by an official statement from the Chief Minister's Office (CMO). Additionally, he will be granted an immediate sum of Rs 5,000 from the Red Cross fund.


Currently, Das benefits from a monthly disability allowance of Rs 3,500, receives 5 kg of rice each month under the National Food Security Scheme, and has been provided with a white cane for mobility.


This swift action by Majhi underscores the government's dedication to supporting its most vulnerable citizens, according to an official.


Prior to this assistance, the Chief Minister emphasized his administration's commitment to the welfare of the poorest, women, youth, and farmers during a meeting.
