Himachal Pradesh Speaker Launches Major Development Projects Worth ₹785 Crore in Chamba
Foundation Stones Laid for Key Projects

Chamba: On Sunday, Kuldeep Singh Pathania, the Speaker of the Himachal Pradesh Assembly, announced a significant development initiative by laying the foundation stones for various projects totaling ₹785.32 crore in the Chamba district. This announcement was made at the historic Chowgan Ground, marking a pivotal moment for the area.
The comprehensive development package encompasses the inauguration of projects valued at ₹136.74 crore, alongside new initiatives worth ₹648.58 crore. Notably, two major hydropower projects, Seikothi-1 and Seikothi-2, will be constructed at an investment of ₹561.95 crore within the Churah Assembly constituency.
Chamba MLA Neeraj Nayyar and Lalit Thakur, Chairman of the Agricultural Produce Marketing Committee, were also in attendance during this significant event.
Pathania Emphasizes Commitment to Development
During his address to a large audience, Speaker Pathania highlighted that Chamba is poised to receive significant government funding aimed at enhancing infrastructure and living standards in remote mountainous areas.
He mentioned that Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu was originally scheduled to attend but had to cancel due to adverse weather conditions. Nevertheless, the scale of the announced projects reflects the CM's dedication to the region.
“Our government is focusing on the development of remote areas like Chamba. These initiatives will greatly improve local infrastructure and positively impact the daily lives of residents,” stated Pathania.
Acknowledgment at Minjar Fair
In conjunction with the development announcements, Speaker Pathania also took part in the prize distribution ceremony of the Minjar Fair, a significant cultural event in the region. He recognized the winners and runners-up of various sports competitions held during the festival.
Additionally, Pathania honored officials and volunteers for their outstanding contributions during the Minjar celebrations, acknowledging their efforts in ensuring the success of the week-long cultural festivities.
