K. Chandrashekar Rao Appears Before Inquiry Commission

On Wednesday, former Chief Minister and BRS leader K. Chandrashekar Rao attended a session at the BRK Bhavan in Hyderabad, where he was questioned by the Justice P.C. Ghosh Commission regarding alleged irregularities in the Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Project. Supporters of the party had already gathered outside his residence in Erravelli, waiting for his arrival. In light of the inquiry, stringent security measures were implemented.

K.T. Rama Rao, the executive president of BRS and son of KCR, remarked that the achievements made by KCR over the past decade are unparalleled in independent India. He emphasized that no Chief Minister in the country has accomplished as much in terms of water and electricity projects.

Rama Rao further stated that if KCR had undertaken similar initiatives in another country, he would have received recognition and possibly even the highest civilian honors. He accused both the BJP and Congress of conspiring against KCR, asserting that the world's largest lift irrigation project, completed in four years under KCR's leadership, has provided water to 4.5 million acres of land. He lamented that this project is being tarnished for political gain, but believes the commission will come to understand the truth. KCR is prepared to answer any questions posed by the commission.

Political Allegations and Project Details

Rao alleged that both Rahul Gandhi and the BJP are complicit in the smear campaign against the Kaleshwaram project, which consists of over 100 components. He noted that the entire system remains intact, with only two of the 85 pillars of a specific barrage reported damaged, which he suspects may be due to a conspiracy by Congress. He asserted that the political vendetta and defamation efforts by the BJP and Congress will receive a strong response from the people of Telangana.
