Four Arrested in Sambhal for Sharing Obscene Videos on Social Media

Police Action Against Obscene Content in Sambhal
In Sambhal, Uttar Pradesh, authorities have apprehended four individuals, including three women, for allegedly sharing obscene videos on social media platforms to enhance their popularity. This incident occurred on Tuesday.
According to Superintendent of Police (SP) Krishan Kumar, the police were alerted about women posting inappropriate and abusive content on Instagram within the jurisdiction of the Asmoli police station. An FIR was subsequently filed on Monday.
The suspects, identified as Mehrul Nisha alias Pari, Mehak, Hina, and Zarrar Alam, all approximately 25 years old, reportedly created vulgar videos featuring offensive language to attract attention. They were allegedly earning around ₹25,000 monthly from these activities, as per the police investigation.
Previously, Mehak and Pari had faced legal action for similar offenses on Instagram. Despite warnings, they continued to upload inappropriate reels and disregarded directives to delete their earlier posts, Kumar noted on Monday.
A case was filed against Mehak and Pari on Sunday evening under Section 296 B of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), which pertains to performing obscene songs or words in public spaces, along with applicable sections of the Information Technology Act.
