Tragic Shooting of CPI Leader in Hyderabad: What Led to This Shocking Incident?

CPI Leader Killed During Morning Walk
In a tragic incident in Hyderabad, K Chandu Naik, a leader of the Communist Party of India (CPI), was shot dead while out for his morning walk in Malakpet. The attack occurred around 7:30 AM when unidentified gunmen, arriving in a vehicle, opened fire on the 47-year-old politician.
Initial investigations suggest that the motive behind the shooting may be linked to a longstanding land dispute. According to police reports, Naik was targeted by three to four assailants who fled the scene immediately after the shooting.
Authorities recovered three spent cartridges and two live rounds from the crime scene, indicating that a single firearm was likely used in the attack. Investigators are currently examining CCTV footage and tracking the vehicle's route to identify the suspects.
Police believe that the attack stems from an old rivalry, specifically related to a land issue, and have identified three individuals as primary suspects. Ten investigative teams have been formed to apprehend those responsible for the murder.
Interestingly, Naik had previously been implicated in a murder case registered at the L B Nagar Police Station in 2022. Despite this, he had not reported any threats to his life prior to the incident.
Kunamneni Sambasiva Rao, the CPI Telangana unit secretary, expressed his condolences and called for the swift arrest of the perpetrators, emphasizing that such violent acts have no place in society.
In a related development, Naik's brother, Jaipal, has filed a complaint naming six individuals in connection with the murder. He recounted that Naik had been lured to the location under the pretense of a friendly discussion before being shot.
A colleague of Naik revealed that a woman had contacted her last week, warning of a potential threat to Naik's life from certain individuals, which Naik had reported to the party office.
