Students from Elite Institutions Join Forces for Rath Yatra

New Delhi/Puri: Students from India's top educational institutions, including IITs and IIMs, are set to gather in Puri for the upcoming Jagannath Rath Yatra 2025, as announced by officials on Tuesday.

As part of a Public Systems and Infrastructure internship organized by the Puri District administration, these students will engage directly in analyzing key elements of the Yatra, such as crowd dynamics, public facilities, event organization, and inter-agency collaboration.

"The Jagannath Puri Rath Yatra represents a significant undertaking in terms of scale, devotion, and coordination. It is essential for the brightest minds in India to experience nation-building firsthand. Over a span of 10 to 15 days, selected interns will tackle live projects focusing on sanitation systems, emergency response, seva stall management, and digital engagement with citizens," stated Puri Collector Siddharth Shankar Swain.

He added that the interns' efforts will lead to real-time insights and suggestions aimed at enhancing the efficiency of future events, thereby contributing to the planning of large-scale public systems.

The internship will be managed by Chaaipani, an agency tasked with overseeing brand activations and improving public amenities during this year's Jagannath Rath Yatra.

"This is a unique chance for young individuals to observe how India operates at its most intricate and spiritual crossroads. Students will gain invaluable insights into logistics, culture, systems, and human behavior in India at an extraordinary scale," remarked Shruti Chaturvedi, founder of Chaaipani.

The Jagannath Rath Yatra 2025 is set to commence on June 27, 2025, and will conclude on July 5, 2025.
