Weather Changes Anticipated in India

IMD Weather Update: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has announced that several states in India will experience notable weather changes in the upcoming days. A comprehensive forecast indicates that heavy rainfall and heatwave conditions are likely in various regions. The Weather Department has specifically warned of continuous rainfall in Kerala on June 4th.


Other areas that will be affected include Assam, Meghalaya, Jharkhand, and Bihar on the 4th; Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, and Chhattisgarh from the 4th to the 7th; and Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, and Interior Karnataka until June 5th.


Regarding the Southwest Monsoon, the IMD stated, “The Northern Limit of Monsoon continues to pass through 17.0°N/55°E, 17.5°N/60°E, 18°N/65°E, 18.5°N/70°E, Mumbai, Ahilyanagar, Adilabad, Bhawanipatna, Puri, Sandhead Island, 23.5°N/89.5°E, Balurghat, 30°N/85°E.”


Additionally, Bihar, West Madhya Pradesh, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, and Sikkim can expect thundersquall winds reaching speeds of 50-60 km/h, potentially gusting up to 70 km/h today. Commuters in these regions may encounter significant delays and traffic disruptions due to the anticipated rainfall.


On the other hand, hot and humid conditions are expected to persist in Odisha from the 4th to the 6th, and in Gangetic West Bengal on June 4th. Furthermore, Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam will experience high temperatures on the 4th and 5th, while Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal will also face heat on June 4th.
