Gautam Adani, Chairman of the Adani Group, recently met with To Lam, the General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam, to discuss strategic reforms aimed at enhancing Vietnam's position in energy, logistics, and aviation. Adani expressed his eagerness to contribute to the evolving economic partnership between India and Vietnam, which has seen significant trade growth. With bilateral trade reaching USD 14.82 billion, both nations are committed to strengthening their Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. This meeting highlights the potential for deeper collaboration in various sectors, promising a transformative journey for both countries.

Strengthening Vietnam-India Relations

On Wednesday, Gautam Adani, the Chairman of the Adani Group, had a significant meeting with To Lam, the General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam. Adani praised Lam's ambitious reforms and strategic vision aimed at establishing Vietnam as a leader in various sectors, including energy, logistics, ports, and aviation. He expressed, “Meeting H.E. To Lam was an honor. His innovative reforms and forward-thinking agenda for Vietnam showcase remarkable strategic insight.


We are eager to play a role in this transformative journey and foster stronger economic ties between Vietnam and India,” Adani shared on X. The trade relationship between India and Vietnam is robust, with bilateral trade reaching USD 14.82 billion from April 2023 to March 2024. India exported goods worth USD 5.47 billion to Vietnam, while imports from Vietnam totaled USD 9.35 billion.



According to Vietnamese statistics, the total trade for 2023 was recorded at USD 14.36 billion, with India’s exports to Vietnam valued at USD 5.86 billion and imports at USD 8.5 billion. India has also maintained a long-term development partnership with Vietnam, contributing positively over the years in areas such as training, capacity building, socioeconomic development, and industrial advancement.


The 13th Political Consultation and the 10th Strategic Dialogue between the two nations took place on June 25 in New Delhi. During this consultation, both parties assessed the progress of the India-Vietnam Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, which is guided by the 'Joint Vision for Peace, Prosperity, and People.'
