Himachal Pradesh Board of School Education Announces Results
Dharamshala: The Himachal Pradesh Board of School Education (HPBOSE) has released the results for the Class 10 board examinations on Thursday, May 15, 2025. This year, the overall pass rate has improved to 79.08%, a significant increase from last year's 74.61%.
The announcement came eight days later than the previous year, emphasizing the continued excellence of female students, with 88 out of the top 117 students in the merit list being girls.
Dr. Major Vishal Sharma, Secretary of HPBOSE, stated that approximately 95,000 students participated in the Class 10 board exams held in March 2025, starting on March 4, with exceptions for the remote areas of Lahaul-Spiti and Pangi.
This year introduced new examination and evaluation techniques, including the use of OMR (optical mark recognition) sheets for the first time in board exams.
Furthermore, a stepwise marking system was implemented to enhance transparency and fairness in evaluations, allowing students to receive credit for partial knowledge and correct methodologies, even if their final answers were incorrect.
In a move towards digitalization, HPBOSE will provide students with access to their certificates via DigiLocker, a secure government platform for digital document storage, enabling them to download their Class 10 result certificates without needing to visit any physical office.
