Former CEO of Obedullaganj Accused of Misappropriating Government Property
Controversy Surrounds Former Janpad Panchayat CEO
Obedullaganj (Raisen) - Following her transfer, Yukti Sharma, the former Chief Executive Officer of the Janpad Panchayat in Obedullaganj, has come under fire for allegedly taking government property. Sharma was removed from her position due to corruption allegations, and shortly after her transfer, she reportedly loaded government items into an auto and relocated them. The Janpad Panchayat subsequently issued a letter requesting the return of these items, which she has failed to do. As a result, the District Panchayat CEO has initiated steps to file a police report against her.
Corruption Allegations Prompted Employee Strike
It is noteworthy that employees, along with district secretaries, staged an 84-day strike demanding Sharma's removal, accusing her of soliciting kickbacks for various tasks. Following these protests, she was transferred on August 27, 2024, to serve as the CEO at a Nutrition Food Plant in Shivpuri. Reports indicate that she took several items, including a bed, mattress, induction stove, cooker, and printer, along with her computer. The District Panchayat Office sent her letters on October 4, 2024, and March 3, 2025, requesting the return of these items, which were detailed in the correspondence.
Immediate Action Taken After Transfer
Reports suggest that upon learning of her transfer, Sharma hastily loaded government property into an auto in front of her staff. Although she acknowledged the request to return the items, she only responded regarding the bed, asking for proof of purchase. Employees claim that the bed was provided by certain secretaries for her comfort while she was with her daughter. Despite the requests for the return of the items, Sharma has not complied.
District CEO Calls for Legal Action
The current District CEO, Vrindavan Meena, has formally requested the police to file an FIR against Yukti Sharma. In her letter, she stated that Sharma took the district office's computer and CPU without notifying anyone. An official request was made for the return of these items, but Sharma has yet to comply. The letter has also been forwarded to the Raisen Collector. Bharat Pratap Singh Rajput, the in-charge of Obedullaganj Police Station, confirmed receipt of the request and stated that an investigation will be conducted before proceeding with the FIR.
