Legal Action Against Neha Singh Rathore

An FIR has been lodged against YouTuber Neha Singh Rathore following a complaint from a social organization in Varanasi. The complaint alleges that she made derogatory comments about India's Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, on Tuesday.

The case was filed at the Lanka Police Station in Varanasi by the President of a group called Shri Hanuman Sena.

The complaint accuses Rathore of referring to PM Modi as a "coward" and "General Dyer," as stated in the FIR submitted at the police station.

According to the FIR, the charges fall under Section 197 (1)(a) and (d), as well as Section 353(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).

Multiple complaints have been lodged at various police stations in Kashi against Rathore for similar allegations regarding her remarks about PM Modi.

Earlier in April, a serious case was registered against her at the Hazratganj police station in Lucknow, which included charges of sedition. This FIR was based on comments she made concerning the Pahalgam terror attack.

In a post on X dated April 23, Rathore claimed that the Modi administration was engaging in politics based on caste and religion.

She accused the BJP government of "collecting votes in the name of the Pulwama attack" and suggested that a similar strategy would be employed following the Pahalgam incident. The Pahalgam attack on April 22 resulted in the deaths of 26 individuals, including a Nepali citizen.

The complaint asserts that her posts could incite caste-based animosity and anti-national feelings. It was filed by poet Abhay Pratap Singh, known as Abhay Singh, at the Hazratganj police station, where he accused Rathore of consistently sharing content that could disturb communal harmony and sway public sentiment against the nation.
