The assassination of Rajiv Gandhi, a former Prime Minister of India, remains a significant event in history, shrouded in various untold narratives. To delve into the immediate consequences of this tragic incident, Applause Entertainment is set to release The Hunt: The Rajiv Gandhi Assassination Case, a captivating crime drama inspired by Anirudhya Mitra’s book, Ninety Days: The True Story of the Hunt for Rajiv Gandhi’s Assassin.


Anirudhya, a former journalist, played a crucial role in reporting on the investigation and uncovering exclusive details during the manhunt for the assassins. This series, premiering on SonyLiv on July 4, offers a detailed account of how the CBI’s Special Investigation Team unraveled the assassination conspiracy, tracked down the killers, and pursued the mastermind to his ultimate refuge.


The project is directed by Nagesh Kukunoor, a renowned filmmaker and National Award winner, who previously collaborated with Applause Entertainment on the acclaimed series City of Dreams.
