Amit Shah's Official Visit to West Bengal

Union Home Minister Amit Shah is currently on a two-day visit to West Bengal, where he is set to inaugurate the new building of the Central Forensic Science Laboratory (CFSL) in Rajarhat, near Kolkata, on Sunday. Additionally, he will address leaders and officials of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) at the Netaji Indoor Stadium.


Shah arrived in Kolkata on Saturday evening, where he was welcomed at the airport by several prominent party members, including Sukanta Majumdar, the state BJP president, Leader of the Opposition Suvendu Adhikari, and other leaders like Agnimitra Paul and Rahul Sinha.


Prior to his arrival, Shah posted on social media in both English and Bengali, stating, 'Heading to Kolkata. Tomorrow, I will inaugurate the new building of the Central Forensic Science Laboratory, which will significantly enhance the criminal justice system in West Bengal and the northeastern region.'


He added, 'I look forward to engaging with workers at the Vijay Sankalp Karyakarta conference in Kolkata. I am eager to participate in the events.'


According to the official schedule, the Home Minister will inaugurate the CFSL in Rajarhat on June 1. Following this, he will address a party conference at the Netaji Indoor Stadium.


Sources within the party have indicated that the meeting will focus on strategizing for the upcoming assembly elections in 2026 in West Bengal.


Sukanta Majumdar, the state BJP president and a central minister, mentioned, 'Amit Shah will outline our strategy for the next assembly elections in the state.'


Shah is also expected to visit the ancestral home of Swami Vivekananda located on Shimla Street in North Kolkata.
