Foundation Laid for Forensic Science University and Laboratory

On Sunday, Union Home Minister Amit Shah inaugurated the foundation for the National Forensic Science University (NFSU) campus and a central forensic science laboratory in Naya Raipur, Chhattisgarh. Shah is on a two-day visit to the state, during which he will tour a security camp and lead meetings regarding ongoing anti-Naxal operations. Accompanying him were Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai, Assembly Speaker Raman Singh, and other ministers.

Amit Shah emphasized that today marks a significant milestone for Chhattisgarh's criminal justice system, as three new initiatives are being launched to modernize it. Firstly, the foundation stone for the NFSU campus was laid in Naya Raipur. Secondly, a central forensic science laboratory was also established today. Lastly, the permanent campus of the NFSU has commenced operations until the new building is completed.

Shah stated that these three initiatives will not only benefit Chhattisgarh but will also provide a foundation for the criminal justice system across Central India in the coming days. Additionally, the Chhattisgarh-IHub was inaugurated today. Following the formation of the government under Vishnu Dev Sai, an investment summit was held, resulting in the signing of MOUs worth ₹5 lakh crore. Numerous industries are set to establish themselves in Chhattisgarh. I want to make it clear to the youth of Chhattisgarh that until they become entrepreneurs themselves, the state's investment cannot lead to an industrial revolution.

The Home Minister highlighted that the greatest achievement of the Vishnu Dev Sai government and State Home Minister Vijay Sharma is the acceleration of previously stalled anti-Naxal operations. He noted that since the government took office, it has not only intensified the anti-Naxal campaign but has also provided guidance at various stages. The morale of the police and security forces has been boosted, and this fight is being carried out effectively. I had stated that by March 31, 2026, this country would be free from Naxalism, and I reiterate today that with the bravery shown by our security forces, we will certainly achieve this goal.

Shah urged Naxalites to abandon violence and join the mainstream, stating that there is no need for dialogue; they should simply lay down their arms and participate in the development journey, taking advantage of the attractive surrender policy. He remarked, “In the past, Naxalites would take a break during the rainy season due to the swollen rivers and streams hindering anti-Naxal operations, but this time, we will not allow them to rest during the monsoon, and we will push forward to meet our March 31 target.” He expressed a desire to appeal to misguided youth who have strayed into Naxalism to abandon their weapons.

Amit Shah also noted that this year marks the centenary of Atal Bihari Vajpayee. Having visited Chhattisgarh for the past 11 years, he confidently stated that the credit for the formation of Chhattisgarh goes entirely to our leader Atal Bihari Vajpayee, while the current Prime Minister Narendra Modi deserves full credit for nurturing the state. The Chhattisgarh government is celebrating its 25th anniversary and has decided to commemorate the founding year as the Atal Construction Year.
