In 2025, Zelina Vega has significantly elevated her status in WWE Smackdown by securing her first singles championship. Her journey from being Andrade’s manager to a wrestler began several years ago when she joined the main roster. Notably, she has achieved a remarkable milestone in WWE women's division history, marking a significant event in Saudi Arabia.

In 2021, Vega triumphed over Doudrop in the finals of the Queen of the Ring Tournament during the Crown Jewel event, executing a stunning Code Red that etched her name in the annals of wrestling history. At that time, the women's version of the King of the Ring was referred to as the Queen’s Crown, which she considers one of the few remaining historical milestones in the wrestling world.

With the King & Queen of the Ring tournaments now regular events in WWE, more champions are expected to emerge in the future, but Vega will always be recognized as the inaugural winner. In a recent discussion on the Lightweights Podcast, she shared her experience of being honored with the crown and recalled a conversation with former WWE CEO Vince McMahon prior to her tournament victory.

WWE Smackdown: Zelina Vega lists three top moments of her career

“As far as like the history books go, I will always be the first one and that’s insane to me cause I didn’t expect that. I really didn’t.” Vega expressed. “Vince had walked by me at one point, and mind you, we don’t really talk that much … he walked by me and he was just like ‘How do you think you’d look with a crown?’ … I was like, ‘I think I’d look cool right?’”

Vega described the overwhelming feeling of achieving something significant after her Queen’s Crown victory in Saudi Arabia. She highlighted her top three career moments: winning the Queen of the Ring in 2021, competing against Rhea Ripley for the WWE Smackdown Women’s Championship at Backlash 2023, and capturing the WWE Women’s United States Championship.

Her victory in the Queen’s Crown led to her becoming the Women’s Tag Team Champion in 2021 alongside Carmella. In a notable match on April 25, during the post-Wrestlemania 41 edition of WWE Smackdown, Vega defeated Chelsea Green (c) to claim the Women’s United States Championship, marking her second title win in WWE. She later lost this title to Giulia on the June 27 episode of WWE Smackdown.
