Amit Shah Lauds BSF's Daring Operation Against Pakistan's Forward Posts

Significant Victory for BSF in Operation Sindoor
Poonch (J-K): Union Home Minister Amit Shah announced on Friday that the Border Security Force (BSF) successfully dismantled over 118 Pakistani forward posts and their surveillance systems during Operation Sindoor, marking a significant setback for Pakistan.
Wrapping up a two-day visit to Jammu to assess security measures, prepare for the Amarnath Yatra, and meet with shelling victims, Shah praised the BSF for their decisive actions against Pakistani provocations during recent conflicts.
He highlighted the rapid destruction of these posts as an impressive accomplishment, noting that dismantling the enemy's surveillance network would take Pakistan years to restore.
"The BSF has effectively neutralized more than 118 Pakistani posts during Operation Sindoor," he stated during his first visit to Jammu and Kashmir following the operation.
"In response to Pakistan's attacks on our borders and civilian areas, the BSF personnel from the Jammu Frontier retaliated by targeting and damaging over 118 posts."
"They systematically dismantled the enemy's entire surveillance system, which will take them four to five years to rebuild," he added.
Shah mentioned that, according to the BSF director general, Pakistan has faced a severe blow to its communication and surveillance capabilities, making it difficult for them to conduct a comprehensive information-based war for the foreseeable future.
He commended the BSF's preparedness even during peaceful times, emphasizing that their intelligence capabilities allowed for effective pre-emptive measures.
"This demonstrates that you maintained vigilance even in peacetime... Your accurate intelligence facilitated a well-planned counter-strategy that was successfully executed when the opportunity arose," he remarked.
Describing the operation as a testament to patriotism and sacrifice, Shah stated, "Such valor arises from national pride, a deep sense of patriotism, and a willingness to make supreme sacrifices. This is how such remarkable outcomes are achieved."
He underscored the BSF's role as India's frontline defense, operating in diverse terrains with unwavering commitment.
"Whenever India faces any form of attack—whether organized or unorganized, covert or overt—the first to respond are our BSF jawans. They never hesitate to act, regardless of the boundaries," Shah noted.
Reflecting on his visit to Poonch amid challenging weather conditions, the Union minister expressed his determination to meet the troops personally.
"I traveled to Poonch to share in the sorrow caused by the damage to gurudwaras, temples, mosques, and civilian areas. Despite unfavorable weather, I was resolute in my decision to visit the border troops," he shared.
"Fortunately, the weather improved, allowing me to meet with you," he told the soldiers.
Shah conveyed the government's and citizens' gratitude to the BSF personnel, stating, "The applause for the BSF is as resounding as that for the Army, which is a source of great pride for all of us."
He reiterated that the courage and sacrifices of BSF jawans have garnered national respect and symbolize India's unwavering commitment to security.
