Rahul Vaidya Rejects Rs 50 Lakh Performance in Turkey Over National Loyalty

Singer's Stand Against Turkey

Indian singer Rahul Vaidya has decided to boycott Turkey, joining a growing number of celebrities in response to the country's support for Pakistan following India's Operation Sindoor.

In a recent interview with a media outlet, Vaidya revealed that he turned down a lucrative performance offer of Rs 50 lakh for a wedding in Antalya, Turkey, set for July 5.

He stated, 'The offer was tempting, but I believe that no amount of money or fame can outweigh the interests of our nation. Even when they proposed a higher fee, I made it clear that this matter transcends financial gain. It’s about our country, and we must support it.'

Vaidya expressed his unwavering loyalty to India, asserting that he would not collaborate with a nation that disrespects it. He remarked, 'My success is rooted in my country and its people. Anyone who undermines our national interests will not be supported.'

He also highlighted the significant sums of money that Indian families invest in Turkey for destination weddings, questioning the loyalty of a country that benefits from such expenditures while being unsupportive of India. 'Indians contribute immensely to Turkey's economy through weddings. How can we continue to spend there when they show such disloyalty?' he asked.

Previously, the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) made a formal request for Indian filmmakers to refrain from shooting in Turkey, citing the country's increasing diplomatic backing for Pakistan on sensitive issues concerning India's national interests.
