Chennai, June 13: The team behind the highly anticipated film 'Kuberaa', directed by Sekhar Kammula and starring Dhanush, Nagarjuna, and Rashmika Mandanna, has announced a new date for its pre-release event. Initially set for Friday, the event will now take place on June 15 (Sunday).

The decision to postpone was made in light of the tragic Air India plane crash that occurred on Thursday. The filmmakers expressed their shock and sorrow over the incident, opting to honor the victims by delaying the event. At that time, they did not provide an alternative date.

On Thursday, the film's official social media account shared a heartfelt message: "Our thoughts are with everyone impacted by the tragic plane crash in Ahmedabad. We offer our deepest condolences to the families and friends of those lost. May you find strength during this challenging time. The pre-release event for Kuberaa, originally scheduled for tomorrow, has been postponed due to this unfortunate incident. We stand with the grieving families."

On Friday, the filmmakers confirmed the rescheduled date in a statement shared on their social media. It read, "The pre-release event for Sekhar Kammula's Kuberaa has been rescheduled. In respect for the tragic events in Ahmedabad, the event planned for today has been postponed. It will now occur on June 15th (Sunday) at the same venue and time. All online pass holders can use their existing passes on June 15th. We appreciate your patience and support during this time."

In addition to Nagarjuna, Dhanush, and Rashmika Mandanna, the film also stars Jim Sarbh in a significant role. 'Kuberaa' is particularly exciting as it marks the first collaboration between the acclaimed actor Dhanush and the renowned director Sekhar Kammula.

From a technical perspective, the film features music by Devi Sri Prasad, who is currently enjoying success with his recent projects. The cinematography is handled by Niketh Bommi, while Ramakrishna Sabbani and Monika Nigotre serve as the production designers. The screenplay has been co-written by Chaithanya Pingali, and the costumes are designed by Kavya Sriram and Poorvaa Jain. 'Kuberaa' is set to release in theaters on June 20 and is produced by Suniel Naran and Puskur Ram Mohan Rao under the Sree Venkateswara Cinemas banner.
