BCCI Invites Armed Forces Chiefs to IPL 2025 Final
Kapil Dev, the former captain of India's World Cup-winning cricket team, expressed his views as the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) extended invitations to the leaders of all three branches of the Indian Armed Forces for the IPL 2025 final, set to occur on June 3 in Ahmedabad.
The championship match will take place at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. The current IPL season faced a temporary halt on May 9 due to escalating tensions between India and Pakistan. This initiative by the BCCI aims to honor the achievements of Operation Sindoor.
Kapil Dev Commends BCCI's Respectful Gesture
In a statement regarding the BCCI's initiative, Kapil Dev remarked, "I take pride in the IPL's decision to invite the Chiefs of all armed forces. It is essential to show respect for their contributions to our nation. Rather than just speaking, we should demonstrate unity and strength. 'Zyada badi baat karne ki zarurat nahi hai, bade kaam karne ki zarurat hai, jaise hamari Army ne kia hai'..."
Details on Operation Sindoor
