IPL 2025 Match Abandoned Due to Floodlight Failure in Dharamsala

Floodlight Malfunction Halts IPL 2025 Match
The IPL 2025 match between Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals in Dharamsala was abruptly halted due to a floodlight failure, leading officials to cancel the game midway. A viral clip from the stadium shows PBKS co-owner Preity Zinta and IPL chairman Arun Dhumal urging fans to exit the venue safely.
The incident occurred during Punjab's innings, with the team at 122 runs for 1 wicket in 10.1 overs. Opener Priyansh Arya had scored an impressive 70 runs off 34 balls before being dismissed by T Natarajan, who recorded figures of 1 wicket for 4 runs in just over an over.

No Play Resumed After Lights Went Out
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) reported that a power outage led to a malfunction in one of the light towers at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium. Although players remained on the field for a short time, match officials soon concluded that resuming play was not feasible.
“Due to a power outage in the area, one of the light towers at the HPCA stadium malfunctioned. BCCI regrets the inconvenience caused to the in-stadium attendees,” read the official statement.
This event occurs amid rising tensions in the region related to Operation Sindoor. The BCCI has now suspended the IPL until further notice. The board is currently considering alternative venues for hosting the tournament, which is likely to take place in September.
