Former Indian cricketer Dinesh Karthik has showered accolades on Jasprit Bumrah following his remarkable display in the first Test match at Headingley. Bumrah's impressive five-wicket haul showcased his ability to influence the game significantly. Karthik likened Bumrah's value to that of the Kohinoor diamond.

“He is as precious as the Kohinoor diamond. I hope everyone recognizes his significance to the team in all formats. He has the capability to excel regardless of the format, bowling phase, or type of ball. More importantly, he possesses a keen understanding of the batter's intentions, which is a rare quality. Among bowlers with over 200 wickets in history, he boasts the best average, highlighting his exceptional talent,” Karthik remarked during an interview with Sky Cricket.

Jasprit Bumrah's outstanding performance included figures of 5 for 82, which played a crucial role in limiting England to a total of 465 runs. His efforts allowed India to secure a slender six-run lead in the first innings, marking Bumrah's 14th five-wicket haul in Test cricket.

Having returned to Test cricket after a brief hiatus due to an injury sustained during the Sydney Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, Bumrah has shown remarkable form. To manage his recovery and workload, he is set to participate in only three Tests during the England tour.
